In addition to the bonuses that recently went live for all Pokémon GO players, the Legendary Pokémon Zapdos was available in Raid Battles around the world during Zapdos Day on July 21. Players were able to encounter Shiny Zapdos for the first time. Zapdos was exclusively available in Raid Battles around the world for a three-hour period. During that time, all Zapdos caught knew the Fast Attack Thunder Shock. See below for event hours in your region:

- Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. UTC (GMT +0)
- The Americas and Greenland: 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7)
When you spun a Photo Disc at a Gym, you were able to receive a Raid Pass up to five times. For a limited time, you can earn double Candy for catching Pokémon and hatching Eggs. You also had a chance to earn up to five free Raid Passes during Zapdos Day.
