Niantic‘s ninth Pokémon GO Community Day officially took place on Saturday, September 22, for three hours in various regions across the globe. The worldwide event featured increased spawns of Chikorita, the new exclusive move Frenzy Plant for Meganium, three-hour Lures and triple catch XP. Meganium evolved during Community Day hours learned the Grass-type attack Frenzy Plant. Shiny Chikorita, Shiny Bayleef and Shiny Meganium have also made their Pokémon GO debuts. A special Community Day Box was also made available for purchase via the in-game store for 480 PokéCoins. This box includes three Egg Incubators, three Lucky Eggs, one Lure Module and 30 Ultra Balls. - The Asia-Pacific region: September 22, 2018, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. JST
- Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India: September 22, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. UTC
- The Americas and Greenland: September 22, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. PDT

Team Mystic once again dominated Pokémon GO Community Day by catching the most Pokémon, Chikorita and Shiny Chikorita per player. This is the team’s ninth time in a row to attain the top spot over Team Instinct and Team Valor.
