Unwrap December Research Breakthrough Surprises. Achieve a Research Breakthrough in December to encounter one of several Legendary Pokémon!

December’s Field Research is bringing some of the year’s most popular Pokémon and research tasks back into the spotlight. It’s a great time to catch up if you fell behind on your research!

Each time you complete a Research Breakthrough in December, you’ll encounter one of six different Legendary Pokémon—Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Raikou, Entei, or Suicune. You’ll also be able to take on some of the most popular Field Research tasks from past months by spinning Photo Discs at PokéStops. Trainers who dedicate themselves to their research in December will find themselves flush with opportunities to reap the rarest research rewards from throughout the year.

Research Breakthroughs will still reward Shedinja until 1 p.m. PST on December 1, so make sure to complete your Field Research if you’re still looking to add the Shed Pokémon to your collection. You’ll need to collect seven stamps by completing Field Research tasks to make a Research Breakthrough, and you can only earn one stamp each day. Rare Pokémon await in December, so get out and GO get them before it’s too late!
