Niantic recently revealed full details for the Pokémon GO holidays 2018 event. Starting on December 18, Ice-type Pokémon are now appearing more frequently in the wild, including Delibird, Shiny Delibird, Jynx, Sneasel, Swinub, Snorunt, Spheal and Snover. Pikachu wearing a festive hat is also available until January 2. Pokémon such as Smoochum, Azurill and Munchlax have a greater chance of hatching from 7 km Eggs – the Eggs you get from opening Gifts from your friends. In order to help with hatching during the holiday season, Trainers can earn a free single-use Incubator once per day via spinning a Photo Disc on a PokéStop until January 2. There are several bonuses throughout the event. From December 18 to December 22, Trainers can earn double Candy for catching and transferring Pokémdon. Then, from December 22 to December 26, earn double Catch Stardust to help power up your Pokémon.
From December 26 to December 30, earn double XP when you catch Pokémon to help you reach a higher Trainer level before the new year. Finally, from December 30 to January 2, Incubators will be twice as effective. You can also outfit your avatar with the Delibird-themed sweater, gloves, earmuffs and boots now available in the Style Shop.
- Delibird Earmuffs for 200 PokéCoins
- Delibird Sweater for 300 PokéCoins
- Delibird Gloves for 150 PokéCoins
- Delibird Boots for 200 PokéCoins
Niantic has also confirmed that new Sinnoh Legendary Pokémon Mesprit, Azelf and Uxie will soon be available in Pokémon GO for the first time. In addition, Skorupi, Drapion, Bronzor, Bronzong, Finneon, Lumineon, Snover, Abomasnow, Croagunk and Toxicroak can now be found and caught in Pokémon GO for the first time. Shiny Santa Hat Pikachu, Shiny Santa Hat Pichu and Shiny Santa Hat Raichu have also made their Pokémon GO debuts. If you hatch an Azurill from an Egg, it can now be Shiny and could evolve into Shiny Marill and then Shiny Azumarill. Here’s the official bonuses schedule:

- December 22–26: Double Stardust for catching Pokémon
- December 26–30: Double XP for catching Pokémon
