It seems as though every major entertainment company is trying to enter the are of digital streaming, and Nintendo appears to be one of them. The gaming giant is reportedly looking to create its own streaming service with Microsoft. Read on below for more details:
“It is a big deal but Sony didn’t have the cloud infrastructure to offer a cloud service, so their choice is either AWS or Azure. Plus they both know if they use the same standards for streaming (like current generation consoles around PC architecture) then consumers win.
“Plus it means more likely for Sony+MSFT to be the streaming winners again despite new entrants. Where does that leave Nintendo? Likely agreement with MSFT and perhaps Sony to offer their streaming services on Switch.
“But also Nintendo itself is looking also to work with MSFT (Azure) to offer its own streaming service in limited regions (JP, US etc).”
