Video: Pokémon Sword and Shield competition winner disqualified – no fan shirts will appear in the game

The Pokémon Company recently teamed up with clothes manufacturer UNIQLO for its 2019 Global T-Shirt Design Competition, which featured Pokémon as the core theme. Winning designs are now being sold at UNIQLO stores. Despite an initial announcement that the winning design – featuring Gyarados and Magikarp – would appear as a wearable T-shirt in Pokémon Sword and Shield, the winner has since been disqualified from the competition for violating the terms by single-handedly selling their own design. As a result, the T-shirt actually won’t appear in the games and no other submissions will be included from that matter. The Pokémon Company has also removed the design from its official pages.
