The 2019 Pokémon World Championships kicked off in grand style in Washington, DC, with exciting Pokémon TCG news delivered by Mr. Tsunekazu Ishihara, president of The Pokémon Company. He introduced a new kind of Pokémon card called Pokémon V, and revealed that the newly discovered Legendary Pokémon Zacian and Zamazenta will be featured on two of these new cards! Mr. Ishihara said there’s still a lot to discover about Pokémon V, and also hinted that much more is on the way in the Pokémon TCG.
The Pokémon Sword and Shield TCG starter set has been revealed, and it consists of five collections of cards in a deck that also feature various new unknown V cards. This set will first be released on November 29 in Japan. The first expansion set, which is referred to as Sword and Shield, will then be released on December 6 in Japan. It’ll introduce a brand-new line of Pokémon in card form. After that, the next expansion is called V Rising and will become available on Februrary 7 in Japan. Western dates have yet to be announced, but stay tuned for any updates.
