Turtwig Pokémon GO Community Day successfully concludes worldwide with no widespread issues

The Grass-type Pokémon Turtwig was the star of September‘s Pokémon GO Community Day, and participants tried catching as many of these Pokémon as they can during the event! This Community Day event took place a bit earlier in the day than in recent months. The event officially happened on Sunday, September 15, 2019, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. local time. Turtwig was appearing much more frequently in the wild during this time. Shiny Turtwig, Shiny Grotle and Shiny Torterra also made their Pokémon GO debuts.

If you evolved Grotle (the evolved form of Turtwig) into Torterra during the event or up to one hour afterward, the Torterra learned Frenzy Plant, a move it can’t normally learn. Plus, during the event, Lure Modules lasted for three hours—and you earned three times the Stardust for catching Pokémon! During Pokémon GO Community Day, spinning PokéStops may have gotten you 2 km Eggs that will hatch into Turtwig. Turtwig was also available to challenge in raids.

As a reminder, Shadow Pokémon cannot learn event-exclusive moves. Purify Shadow Pokémon featured on Community Day before evolving for them to learn the exclusive move. You do not need use a TM to change Return as a move from Purified Pokémon in order to learn exclusive moves. However, the exclusive move will replace Return, even if you have two Charged Attacks.
