Lapras was recently appointed as a new Pokémon ambassador for 2019, following in the footsteps of Slowpoke and Sandshrew in 2018. The lovable Transport Pokémon is the official mascot of the Miyagi Prefecture in the Tōhoku region of Japan in October 2019. Pokémon fans can look forward to Lapras-themed merchandise, products and activities. In addition, special Pokémon GO events will be held as well, such as increased spawns of Lapras and Shiny Lapras from October 19 to November 4.
