The upcoming Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield are the next generation of Pokémon RPGs coming to the Nintendo Switch system. Your new adventure in the Galar region is now just a few weeks away, and there’ll be lots to do as you explore the region’s idyllic countryside, contemporary cities, thick forests, and craggy, snow-covered mountains.
There is a vast expanse of land in the Galar region that is known as the Wild Area. The Wild Area is full of nature as far as the eye can see, and it connects several different towns and cities. You’ll find a greater variety of Pokémon living here than anywhere else in the Galar region. The Pokémon you’ll run into will change depending on things like the weather or location, so you might see something new each time you visit.
The weather in the Wild Area can change depending on where you are or what time of day it is. You’ll see sunshine and rain, and you might even run into more uncommon weather patterns, such as thunderstorms. You’ll find plenty of Electric-type Pokémon during thunderstorms, and when you enter battle, the battlefield will have the effects of both the rain weather condition and Electric Terrain! Meanwhile, a new web browser app will allow you to explore the Wild Area in Pokémon Sword and Shield. This app will go live next month and will be available until December 31, 2019.
