Nintendo TOKYO store and Pokémon Center SHIBUYA now open in Japan, first day met with overwhelming demand

Nintendo’s first official store in Japan, Nintendo Tokyo, has opened its doors in the Shibuya Parco building as of November 22. The store’s opening coincides with the reopening of Shibuya Parco. Nintendo Tokyo sells video game systems, software, character-based merchandise and more. It will host events and playable game demos on a regular basis. As a new base for Nintendo to communicate information in Japan, Nintendo is planning to make Nintendo Tokyo an enjoyable place for a wide range of consumers of all ages. A new Pokémon Center, Pokémon Center SHIBUYA, has also opened within the same vicinity and is collaborating with Nintendo TOKYO. According to David Gibson, “So many people lined up at new Tokyo Nintendo Store that they gave out tickets and then closed the shop for the day to new people from 9:30am! Its like being at a Disney ride!!”
