Nintendo recently announced that after selling more than 6 million units worldwide during launch weekend, Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield are among the fastest-selling Nintendo Switch games of all time. Additionally, the games sold just over 2 million copies in the first two days in the U.S., making it the highest-grossing launch of any Pokémon game.
They have also already sold over 2 million copies in Japan alone. This number includes both physical and digital sales. Pokémon Sword happens to be more popular and selling better than Pokémon Shield in Japan. Pokémon Sword has shifted 499,753 copies so far, whereas Pokémon Shield has sold 347,629 units so far.
