The second official Online Competition for Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, Galar Newcomers, has officially been announced. Read on below for more details:
Galar Newcomers
Game: Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield
Battle Format: Double
Registration: Open until January 30 at 23:59 UTC.
Battle period: From January 31 at 00:00 UTC to February 2 at 23:59 UTC.
Reward: All players get 50 BP.
About Pokémon
Eligible Pokémon: Newly discovered Pokémon in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield may be used. Special Pokémon such as Legendary and Mythical Pokémon may not be used. Only Galarian regional forms may be used for Pokémon with regional forms.
Pokémon in your current team or registered to your Battle Team: From 4 to 6 Pokémon. All Pokémon will have their level automatically set to Lv. 50 during battles. You may use any Gigantamax Pokémon. Eligible Pokémon are restricted to those that you caught, hatched from Eggs, or received as a Mystery Gift in: Pokémon Sword. Pokémon Shield.
About Items
You cannot use any items except those that can be obtained through regular gameplay (including related functions of games released by The Pokémon Company and Nintendo) or that have been awarded as part of a public distribution or special event. You may give your Pokémon items to hold in this competition. However, no two Pokémon that will participate in the competition can hold the same item.
About Battles
Battle Times: Your Time: Max 10 minutes
Selection Time: Each Trainer gets 90 seconds to select Pokémon.
Turn Time: Each Trainer gets 60 seconds to select an action each turn.
