Nintendo will no longer service the Wii as of March 31 in Japan

In 2019, Nintendo removed the official Wii U website from Nintendo.com, along with all of its seventh-generation games, which include Wii, WiiWare, DS and DSiWare. Nintendo today announced that it’s officially ending repair service for the original Wii console in Japan.

“After March 31, Nintendo will no longer be accepting first-gen Wiis, model number RVL-001, for repair in Japan. Nintendo stated that it no longer has Wii-related parts and therefore servicing the consoles has become difficult. It is unclear whether this announcement impacts other regions.”
