Nintendo has managed to come out on top in the patent dispute against Gamevice, which filed a lawsuit against the gaming giant in 2018. The lawsuit claimed that the Nintendo Switch copied ideas from Gamevice’s own detachable controllers for smartphones and tablets. However, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board has invalidated all of Gamevice’s claims against Nintendo:
“Gamevice does not contest Nintendo’s showing that these dependent claims are unpatentable, nor does Gamevice offer any other argument or evidence in support of patentability,” the board said.
