The Pokémon Company is now recognizing Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, which made their initial debut back in 2009. Trainers returned to the Johto region when these Pokémon remakes were first released for the Nintendo DS family of systems. The games were first released in Japan on September 12, 2009.
