WORLD’S TOP POKÉMON COMPETITORS CROWNED AT THE VIRTUAL 2020 POKÉMON PLAYERS CUP

BELLEVUE, WA—August 31, 2020—Following three months of intense matches and friendly competition in an unprecedented virtual environment for Pokémon Trainers, the 2020 Pokémon Players Cup came to a close today. The best Masters Division players from around the world came together virtually to compete in the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG), the Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield video games, and Pokkén Tournament DX. More than 9,000 players from around the globe competed in the virtual tournament.The Pokémon Players Cup is an online tournament that took place from June through August, in which players from around the world competed to prove they’re the best and win Travel Awards to a future Pokémon International Championships.

The 2020 Pokémon Players Cup Champions are:

  • 2020 Pokémon TCG Players Cup Champion Jack Millar
  • 2020 Pokémon Video Game Players Cup Champion Santino Tarquinio
  • 2020 Pokkén Tournament DX Players Cup Champion Shadowcat
