Marshadow distribution event for Pokémon Sword and Shield now available in the US at Target and in Canada at GameStop until November 12, and in Australia and New Zealand at JB Hi-Fi until November 18

A new distribution event has been announced for Pokémon Sword and Shield. Read on below to learn more:

Receive Genesect, Volcanion, and Marshadow in Your Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield Game

Visit a participating retailer to claim codes that’ll let you receive these Mythical Pokémon.

There’s a trio of Mythical Pokémon waiting to join your travels through the Galar region—and to get them, all you need to do is visit a participating retailer in your region! There, you can get codes that’ll let you receive Genesect, Volcanion, and Marshadow in your Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield game.

Genesect and Volcanion

  • US: GameStop (October 16–29, 2022)
  • Canada: GameStop (October 16–29, 2022)
  • Australia and New Zealand: JB Hi-Fi (October 21 – November 18, 2022)

Marshadow

  • US: Target (October 30 – November 12, 2022)
  • Canada: GameStop (October 30 – November 12, 2022)
  • Australia and New Zealand: JB Hi-Fi (October 21 –November 18, 2022)

While you’re there, be sure to ask about preordering Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet, the newest titles in the Pokémon video game series and the first to feature an open-world adventure. Featuring a new region named Paldea, these games are filled with never-before-seen Pokémon and multiple storylines, and they introduce the mysterious Terastal phenomenon, which makes your Pokémon glisten like gemstones and can even change their types!

To claim your in-game gifts, follow these steps.

  1. Launch your Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield
  2. Select Mystery Gift on the X menu.
  3. Select Get a Mystery Gift.
  4. Select Get with Code/Password to connect to the internet.
  5. Enter your codes one by one.
  6. Watch as the gifts arrive in your game. (Pokémon will appear in your party or your Pokémon Boxes. Items will appear in your Bag.)
  7. Be sure to save your game.

There’s no purchase necessary to receive these codes, but they’re only available while supplies last, so don’t delay! Please note that there is a limit of one code per Pokémon per person, and each code can only be used once.

      1. They should have just left these with GameStop as they know how to handle these things. Target sucks at communicating their employees what is going on.

    1. My closest Target is 1 hr 1/2 away and they don’t have the codes. Is there a way you can move this to game stop in the US??

  1. I went to 5 different target and none of them had the card. One of them actually knew about the card and said to come back on the 12th.

  2. Maryland here. No Targets here work and employees just shrug their shoulders. I can’t be mad at them, but it’s frustrating for sure. Who can you complain to about this?

  5. I’m so disappointed that I was unable to get the marshadow code. I literally have been looking forward to the event since they announced it, went to multiple targets day one right at opening only to be looked at with utter confusion as to what the hell I was even talking about. Checked multiple targets all over northern Utah multiple times per day for several days, and several times I was told “oh we had them earlier but gave them all out” at stores I was already at earlier the same day where they told me they didn’t have any. This was the biggest bullshit distribution ever. Make it right pokemon and just do a mystery gift code online that we can all access. SMH, HUGE LET DOWN. Now scalpers are selling cards on eBay for $11 or more a piece, for a code card THAT WAS FREE!!!!!!!!!!!
