Bug–Tera Type Samurott with the Mightiest Mark will be available in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet black crystal Tera Raid Battles from April 7 at 00:00 UTC to April 9 at 23:59 UTC

Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet are now available for Nintendo Switch. Read on below to learn more about one of the latest in-game events:

Face a Mighty Samurott!

Catch a Samurott with the Mightiest Mark!
Samurott with the Mightiest Mark is appearing in black crystal Tera Raid Battles! You can trade blows with Samurott from Friday, March 31, 2023, at 00:00 UTC to Sunday, April 2, 2023, at 23:59 UTC.

Samurott cannot normally be encountered in Paldea, and the Samurott appearing during this event has Bug as its Tera Type, making it a formidable foe—it even has the Mightiest Mark to prove it! Work together with your friends to topple this powerful Tera Pokémon!

This special Samurott can be caught only once per save data. You can still participate in Tera Raid Battles against this Samurott to obtain other rewards if you’ve already caught it.
This Samurott may be featured in future events or become obtainable through other methods.

What Is a Tera Raid Battle?

In a Tera Raid Battle, you’ll work together with three other Trainers to defeat a powerful Tera Pokémon before time runs out. The kinds of Pokémon encountered during Tera Raid Battle events will vary. Pokémon encountered in Tera Raid Battles may have a rare Tera Type.

Information about Tera Raid Battle Events

• To participate in Tera Raid Battle events, please download the latest Poké Portal News by selecting Poké Portal from the X menu, then Mystery Gift, then Check Poké Portal News. You do not need a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership to receive the latest Poké Portal News.
• After completing certain postgame events, you’ll be able to find black Tera Raid crystals. However, players who haven’t completed these events may still participate in these Tera Raid Battles by joining other Trainers in multiplayer.
• A paid Nintendo Switch Online membership (sold separately) is required to participate in Tera Raid Battles with other Trainers online. Terms apply. Learn more at https://www.nintendo.com/switch-online.

Challenge Samurott in Tera Raid Battles

Sharpen your skills and catch a Bug–Tera Type Samurott with the Mightiest Mark.

Samurott with the Mightiest Mark is slicing its way into black crystal Tera Raid Battles! You can try catching Samurott from March 30, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. PDT until April 2, 2023, at 4:59 p.m. PDT, and again during a rerun event from April 6, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. PDT until April 9, 2023, at 4:59 p.m. PDT. Samurott cannot normally be encountered in Paldea, and the Samurott appearing during this event has Bug as its Tera Type, making it a formidable foe—it even has the Mightiest Mark to prove it!

For the opportunity to encounter this Pokémon in Tera Raid Battles, you’ll need to have downloaded the latest Poké Portal News. You can do this by connecting your Nintendo Switch system to the internet or by selecting Poké Portal in the X menu, then Mystery Gift, then Get Poké Portal News. After that, whenever you see a sparkling pillar of light shining from a Tera Raid crystal, you can walk up to the crystal and interact with it to start a Tera Raid Battle with a Tera Pokémon.

To challenge Samurott, Trainers will need to either complete the postgame events that follow the main story or join a 7-star Tera Raid Battle hosted by a Trainer who has completed those events. This special Samurott can be caught only once per save data. You can still participate in Tera Raid Battles against this Samurott if you’ve already caught it to obtain other rewards—including significant amounts of Exp. Candy for leveling up your Pokémon, treasures that can be sold at Pokémon Centers, items for improving your Pokémon’s stats, and Bug Tera Shards for changing your Pokémon’s Tera Type.
