FanArt Friday.

Pokémon Blog is starting a new section called “FanArt Friday,” in which we’ll appreciate and showcase the art of the talented artists within the Pokémon Community.

For this first edition of “FanArt Friday,” we’re lucky to display the art of the talented Camille Cailloux also known as flyingrotten.

A beautiful drawing of the Water-Type Starters: Squirtle, Totodile, Mudkip, Piplup, Oshawott, Froakie, Popplio, Sobble, and Quaxly.

They have been an artist since their childhood and consider art as a way to express themselves in a way no other medium has allowed them to do so and a way to share any idea they get and communicate it in the best way they can.

Pokémon 150 and 151: Mewtwo and Mew.

Camille shared that Pokémon “means a lot (to me) and helped me through depression as a kid. I’ve been following it since its beginning in Europe in 1999. Never let go of that franchise since then. I’m too much in love with the concept of tons of different creatures to collect.”

A family’s meeting: Pikachu, Pichu, Raichu, Raichu Alolan Form, Minum, Plusle, Emolga, Pachirisu, Togedemaru, Dedenne, and Morpeko.

The artist expressed “how amazing it feels to be able to share their ideas about Pokémon” and “it was easier a few years ago when we (the artists) had platforms dedicated to art. Now art is mostly ‘consumed’ on social media, and sadly tons of people don’t realize the work behind what they see.”

Camille also mentioned that their pieces are a part of themselves, and it’s sad to see their art reposted without permission. They encouraged us to retweet on Twitter, reblog on Tumblr and ask the artists on Instagram for permission to share their art and to be respectful of somebody’s concept for a Pokémon even if we don’t like it.

The french and nonbinary artist chose Claydol as their favorite Pokémon because “I just love everything about them: colors, form and cry. I’m not very good at the games, so I don’t even know if they’re a good one to use in a team, but I always have one,” and they also shared their disappointment for not being able to have one in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet.
