Misleading move descriptions for Dire Claw, Stone Axe and Ceaseless Edge are being updated in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet are now available for Nintendo Switch. Read on below to learn more about changes to certain move descriptions:

Regarding Move Description Updates

Plans are under way to update three misleading move descriptions in the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet games. These moves are available to certain Pokémon that will be eligible for battle following Regulation Set D on Saturday, July 1, 2023.

Affected Moves

Dire Claw

The user lashes out at the target with ruinous claws, aiming to land a critical hit. This may also leave the target poisoned, paralyzed, or asleep.

Stone Axe

The user swings its stone axes at the target, aiming to land a critical hit. Stone splinters left behind by this attack float around the target.

Ceaseless Edge

The user slashes its shell blade at the target, aiming to land a critical hit. Shell splinters left behind by this attack remain scattered under the target as spikes.

Update Notes

Each of the above move descriptions states that the user is “aiming to land a critical hit.” However, in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, these moves do not have any effect on the user’s critical-hit ratio. Their descriptions will be revised accordingly in a future update.

  1. I will stab Avery, Hop, Hau and Allister with a kitchen knife 🔪 🗡️. I hate gay faggots like them on pokemon. Hop and Hau are dirty little tar babies but I like Leon. I want Allister and Avery to die because they replaced waifus Bea and Klara. Shooting a bullet into Avery’s brain would be cool.
