For this this edition of “FanArt Friday,” we’re lucky to display the art of the talented Zoë Peña also known as aquaspiderart.
Our featured artist shared with the Pokémon Blog’s Team: “Art is my career, and it’s also my way of life! It’s a way for me to think out loud with pictures instead of words.”
“I’ve been into Pokémon for as long as I can remember. Every species and each Pokémon is dear to me, even the unpopular ones. I have memories with friends, family, and by myself with this world and these characters, so they’re very precious to me,” Zoë mentioned.
Creating Pokémon illustrations is always a delight for Zoë. She explained: “If I’m going to make Art for myself, I might as well be self-indulgent. I know that my younger self would’ve loved to see the type of Art I make now— it’s like I’m dedicating it to my past.”
“And I’m also dedicating my Art to the fans of today who have dreams of creating their own fanworks,” She added.
Zoë considers it hard to choose a favorite Pokémon, but she’s rotating between a handful with Chikorita, Xatu, and Mimikyu always up for first place.
