FanArt Friday: The Spectacular Shadow Lugia

For this edition of FanArt Friday, we’re honored to showcase the art of the talented Karen Torrijo, also known as chibichubi_. She’s the new member of the administration team of Ilustradoras Unidas and one of the organizers of Pokédex Ilustrada.

Three Seasons Of Love: Eevee for the first generation of Pokédex Ilustrada🌺🍂❄️

Describing the role of Art in her life is such a hard task for Karen since it’s something that has always been constant since she was a child until a couple of years ago when she had to give it up because of an illness (“It was difficult to abandon what I was passionate about”).

“Right now, for me, Art means passion, self-improvement, and tranquility… I’m currently dabbling in digital art, even though I’m still learning” she shared.

MINDBLOWING: Shadow Lugia for the second generation of Pokédex Ilustrada🌫️

Our featured artist was apologetic about not being the biggest Pokémon fan out there since Pokémon has not been a part of her childhood. However, she revealed that she felt a calling towards it when she started playing Pokémon Go.

“There’s something that has always captivated me about the franchise: its beautiful designs. All of them are so different and can appeal to people with different tastes. My respect for Pokémon fans who memorize attacks, points, and more. In my case, I like to collect them,” Karen explained. “I’m grateful to Pokémon because I’ve met great artists who share the same appreciation and inspired me to continue with my Art.”

When it comes to her favorite Pokémon, the answer was, is, and always will be Pumpkaboo.
