Pokémon Of The Day

The Pokémon of March 22nd, 2024 is…

#718 Zygarde 50% Forme

Zygarde (Japaneseジガルデ Zygarde) is a dual-type Dragon/Ground Legendary Pokémon introduced in Generation VI.

While it is not known to evolve into or from any other Pokémon, Zygarde has three formsZygarde 10% FormeZygarde 50% Forme, and Zygarde Complete Forme.

Additionally, there are two basic components of Zygarde: Zygarde Cores, which act as the brains of Zygarde, and Zygarde Cells, which compose Zygarde’s forms and are non-sentient. Neither Zygarde Cores nor Zygarde Cells can use moves or are useful in battles by themselves. They are stored inside the Zygarde Cube.

Zygarde 50% Forme was introduced in Pokémon X and Y. The Zygarde Cells, Zygarde Cores, Zygarde 10% Forme, and Zygarde Complete Forme were revealed in the October 2015 issue of CoroCoro magazine and later introduced in Pokémon Sun and Moon.

Zygarde Core played an important role in the anime‘s XY&Z arc.

Zygarde, Xerneas, and Yveltal are often collectively referred to as the Aura trio by fans.

Zygarde is a green and black Pokémon whose form depends on the percentage of Zygarde Cores and Zygarde Cells it has gathered together. Zygarde’s Cores and Cells do not have the power to battle alone and can only fight when combined to form Zygarde. Should Zygarde be affected by outside influence, its color changes from green to red, as depicted in the episode Down to the Fiery Finish!. Zygarde serves as the protector of the planet’s ecosystem. Zygarde is shown to be capable of gathering the energy of the land and focus it on its foes, damaging them. It has the ability to divide its cells from its body temporarily, using them as weapons, either as arrows or waves. Zygarde usually stays out of the sight of others. It has been referred to as a guardian of the ecosystem. Zygarde keeps a close watch on the planet and on its two counterparts Xerneas and Yveltal, ensuring the equilibrium of the planet and the cycle of life and death are kept in check. Normally, Zygarde avoids getting involved in conflicts unless the ecosystem is in grave danger.

Zygarde is the only known Pokémon capable of learning the moves Land’s WrathThousand ArrowsThousand Waves, and Core Enforcer. It is also the only known Pokémon that can have Aura Break and Power Construct as its Abilities.

Zygarde has three forms: Zygarde 10% Forme, Zygarde 50% Forme, and Zygarde Complete Forme, which are composed of Zygarde Cores and Zygarde Cells.

Zygarde 50% Forme has a serpentine body with green and black markings. Most of its back, head, and neck are black, while the underbelly and the tip of its tail are green. Its eyes are made of four green hexagons, similar to an insect with compound eyes, and there is a thin, white line down the center of its face. Across the back of its neck is a large frill made of five long, flat protrusions that each have two small, green hexagons on them. There are three short tendrils on either side of its chest; they are black on the right and green on the left. Its tail also ends in five tendrils. It has many small, green hexagon markings on its body capable of glowing.

The 50% Forme of Zygarde is formed from half of its Cores and Cells reuniting. Zygarde is thought to monitor those who destroy the ecosystem from deep within its cave. This form of Zygarde is known to be both ruthless and mercilessly destroying anyone who stands in its way. Should the region’s ecosystem fall into disarray, it will appear and reveal its power. This power is Zygarde changing into the powerful Complete Forme. Zygarde can summon and control massive roots, which it can use to attack and cover areas, as depicted in the episode Down to the Fiery Finish!. In the same episode, it is shown to affect the weather by changing the sky to the color red.“-Bulbapedia.
