For this edition of FanArt Friday, Pokémon Blog is happy to feature the art of Silvia (silviacustomcards). She’s an incredible painter from Italy who specializes in customizing TCG cards.
For her, art is a synonym of freedom and serenity.
She always tries to find a space to paint every day. It helps her express her emotions, anxieties, worries, and inner feelings as joy.
“My art changes depending on my feelings, but the technique and craftsmanship always remain the same. Sometimes pain or joy are imperceptible within my works,” Silvia explained. “Art is the expression of myself, my great passion, and my current work.“
Pokémon represents her childhood.
“Since I was a kid, I have always loved everything that revolved around Pokémon, especially that little yellow, tender, and cuddly animal that we all know as ‘Pikachu.’ And it was precisely from Pikachu that it all began: playing the first video games, collecting the first Pokémon cards, the plushies, and the first memories. And they aren’t just memories since I still keep them all to this day.”
Pokémon is not only a nostalgic memory from Silvia’s past. It’s also the main topic around her art and work: “Pokémon is the main part of all my days, what still manages to make me happy and feel like a child again.”
According to Silvia, combining her love for Pokémon and Art makes her the happiest and freest person in the world.
“I can finally use my talent and what I have learned through my studies in the School of Pictorial Arts to represent my passions and favorite video games and anime (Especially Pokémon),” she stated. “I’m happy to have found the opportunity to create multiple pieces, which are also appreciated daily by many collectors and lovers of the franchise. These pieces are also shipped and kept by fans all over the world. Seeing my works in the card collections of all these people makes me really proud and happy. I couldn’t be happier to be an artist, and I’m so thankful to have all these friends who keep supporting my work!”
“Pikachu has remained my favorite Pokémon all these years. It was the first Pokémon I met through Pokémon Yellow. It will be at the top of the list and my favorite forever. But, of course, I love all Pokémon!”
