For this edition of FanArt Friday, Pokémon Blog is beyond honored to pay tribute to one of the most majestic Pokémon of all time with the help of our incredible featured artist who has dedicated his work to spreading the love for his favorite Pokémon: Venasaur Propaganda.
VP’s relationship with Art stemmed from his enjoyment of looking at cool pictures. He has indulged in this activity for as long as he can remember since he finds it exciting and relaxing.
“At some point (probably when I was 8), I found out I could actually make cool pictures if I tried. And I’ve been doing that for about 19 years.”
“Pokémon Red Version was perhaps the very second video game I’ve ever played (the first was Mortal Kombat 3). I was a dinosaur-obsessed kid, so I fell for this series HARD. I pretty much grew up with all the video games; we are the same age, after all.”
He decided to combine his love for Art and Pokémon for a simple reason: “I like making cool art, and I think Venasaur is very cool. It only makes sense to put the two together. That’s really it. I just thought it’d be fun. And it seems a lot of the buddies I’ve made online agree!”
There are too many things our artist could say about Venasaur, his favorite Pokémon, and the main topic around his artwork.
“Venasaur’s design just works. It combines the toughness and strength of a dinosaur, the majesty of a flower, and the charm of a toad all into one seamless package. Add on its cat-like ears. And there’s nothing else quite like Venusaur in the Pokémon World. While definitely an inspired design, I find its execution much more innovative than most other starters (or Pokémon in general). Venusaur is a unique monster. It can be cool, cute, and majestic all at the same time,” he concluded.
