For this edition of FanArt Friday, Pokémon Blog is happy to display the astounding art of the talented Constanza Luza, also known by her pseudonym conilu_arts.
Our featured artist had the opportunity to collaborate with our friends from Ilustradoras Unidas in the fourth generation of Pokédex Ilustrada.
“As a child, I always liked to draw. Creativity comes to my mind with everything I can imagine, and then I capture it directly in the drawing. Art is a beautiful way to express what we want without words and with its message delivered by our hands,” she expressed. “Art is also life. And I hope to keep improving my abilities over time.”
Pokémon was one of the first anime series Constanza ever watched, and she enjoyed it a lot. She considers the changes and appearances of new Pokémon throughout the years and generations fascinating because they inspire children, adults, designers, and artists.
“I hope we can get more series, video games, and Pokémon in the future, so we all can also become Pokémon Masters.”
Constanza also spoke to Pokémon Blog about her experience combining her two passions and participation in the fourth generation of Pokédex Ilustrada: “Honestly, it was a challenge. When I decided to participate in making the artwork of Ambipom, I wanted to show a side of Pokémon beyond their cuteness and fun nature. I wanted to highlight the tranquility and how good these creatures can be. My inspiration for this illustration was the Pokémon: Detective Pikachu movie, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I love it.”
Constanza’s favorite Pokémon is none other than the iconic Gengar.
“I love Gengar. I’ve always liked the Ghost and Water-type Pokémon, but Gengar is the best Pokémon. His moveset is awesome. Plus, he’s funny and has big red eyes. Also, he’s purple, my favorite color,” she concluded.
