For this edition of FanArt Friday, Pokémon Blog is ecstatic to showcase the extraordinary artwork of Rinrin (rinrin.illus). This incredible artist participated in the project “Pokémon Fan: Dibuja Tu Equipo Soñado (Pokémon Fan: Draw Your Dream Team),” organized by our friends from Ilustradoras Unidas and created to commemorate the First Anniversary of FanArt Friday.
Rinrin has always liked to draw and engage in other art expressions such as music, movies, and crafting.
“I have been drawing since I was a child, so I can say that art is essential in my life because everything would be very boring without it.”
Her relationship with the Pokémon franchise started when she was a child.
She recalled having fun buying TCG cards and illustrations and watching Pokémon Anime on TV.
“The coolest thing (I remember) was when Pokémon the Movie 2000: The Power of One came out. I liked it a lot from the moment I watched it. It’s a perfect memory of my childhood,” she shared.
Rinrin said she wishes to have more opportunities to create more art about Pokémon in the future because it’s an incredible experience.
When asked about her favorite Pokémon, there’s no hesitation in her answer: “Charizard. He’s very cool and important, but he also looks adorable (I remember that scene in Pikachu’s Vacation, and I can’t help but feel sorry for him). I love dragons, too. So, what’s better than a Pokémon that looks like one?”
