For this edition of FanArt Friday, Pokémon Blog is happy to feature the illustrations of the artist known as Loli. She participated in the project “Pokémon Fan: Dibuja Tu Equipo Soñado (Pokémon Fan: Draw Your Dream Team),” organized by our friends from Ilustradoras Unidas and created to celebrate the First Anniversary of FanArt Friday.
Loli has loved drawing for as long as she can remember. For her, art is a way to express her emotions, tastes, and thoughts.
“Seeing my ideas captured fills me with great emotion and happiness,” she said.
Pokémon is one of her favorite franchises because she grew up with it.
“It was nice to come home from school, sit next to my mom, and watch the Pokémon anime series on Cartoon Network,” she recalled. “Also, my first video game was Pokémon Crystal. Becoming a Pokémon trainer was and still is exciting for me.”
“For years, I dreamed of depicting myself with my Pokémon in the world I love so much. But I felt I couldn’t do it, so I practiced and started doing commissions with Pokémon. Finally, I made that dream a reality with Pokémon Fan: Dibuja Tu Equipo Soñado (Pokémon Fan: Draw Your Dream Team). And I loved the result.”
Loli’s favorite Pokémon is and will always be Absol: “Everything started when I saw him in the Pokémon Advanced Opening. He looked so epic, and seeing him surrounded by Legendary Pokémon was incredible. Reading his Pokédex entry and seeing the reason for his typing made me love him even more. And no matter what version of Pokémon I play, I always have him on my team.”
