FanArt Friday: An Ode To Childhood

For this edition of FanArt Friday, Pokémon Blog is honored to feature the amazing art of the incredible Celeste Ilustradora (kabeldraw). This talented artist participated in the project celebrating the “First Anniversary of FanArt Friday” titled “Pokémon Fan: Dibuja Tu Equipo Soñado,” organized by our dear friends from Ilustradoras Unidas.

Art has been quintessential in Celeste’s life, as she has loved drawing since childhood (“I take art very seriously nowadays”).

“Art is everything for me. I cannot walk down the street without thinking about shapes, colors, or feeling the urge to create something,” she told the Pokémon Blog Team.

“The Pokémon franchise was one of the first animes I ever loved, perhaps because of the designs and my intrigue with the concept of creatures residing inside a ball. Plus, I liked Team Rocket a lot.”

Celeste enjoyed being a part of “Pokémon Fan: Dibuja Tu Equipo Soñado” because it was a beautiful and meaningful experience that combined her love for art and anime—especially Pokémon.

“It was one of the first franchises that introduced me to the world of drawing. I never thought I would create something resembling anime because I couldn’t get the style right at first, but with practice, I learned. And here I am now, loving what I do more each day,” she said.

Her favorite Pokémon is none other than the beloved mascot of the franchise: Pikachu.

“He is, and will always be, my favorite Pokémon. He was the first Pokémon I ever saw and the reason I started watching the anime. I loved his relationship with Ash, and I’d say his peculiar design is very reminiscent of a beloved pet,” Celeste concluded.
