For this edition of FanArt Friday, Pokémon Blog is greatly honored to feature a special guest.
Adry, also known by her pseudonym Lananys Tejidos, is an extremely talented artisan who has participated in the fourth and fifth generations of Pokédex Ilustrada, organized by our dear friends from Ilustradoras Unidas.
For Adry, art is the visual perception of her life.
“Through art, I can reflect my tastes in various ways without limitations or restrictions,” she explained to the Pokémon Blog Team. “I also love seeing what others express through their art because they are able to convey their emotions, and sometimes I can connect with their work. Everything I feel with them goes beyond words”
Pokémon has always been a part of Adry’s memories and life: “I will always remember the moments in my childhood when I enjoyed watching the anime on TV and was excited to go to school to play Pogs with my friends. I think it was an important part of my childhood, and now, as an adult, I look back and yearn for it a lot.”
It is an incredible experience for her to combine two things she holds dear and share her Pokémon-related tastes through her art, which in her case, is knitting.
“It’s simply wonderful. I think Pokédex Ilustrada was the best opportunity I was given to do it,” she added.
When choosing her favorite Pokémon, she doesn’t hesitate to answer, despite having a few others in her top.
“My childhood was all about the first generation of Pokémon. Vaporeon stood out to me from the first moment I saw him because of his color, and no one can replace him,” she concluded.
