From Friday, January 10, 2025, at 00:00 UTC to Sunday, January 12, 2025, at 23:59 UTC, mass outbreaks of Silicobra will be appearing throughout the Paldea region, mass outbreaks of Ekans will be appearing throughout the land of Kitakami, and mass outbreaks of Seviper will be appearing throughout the Terarium at Blueberry Academy.
Shiny Pokémon are more likely to appear in these special mass outbreaks, so don’t miss out on your opportunity to nab these Pokémon before they ssslither away!

What Is a Mass Outbreak?
Mass outbreaks are a phenomenon in which many of the same species of Pokémon appear in one location. During limited-time mass outbreak events, certain Pokémon will become more likely to appear.

Information about Mass Outbreak Events
• In order to participate in limited-time mass outbreak events, you need to have downloaded the latest update data and the latest Poké Portal News. You do not need a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership to receive the latest Poké Portal News.
• You can download the latest Poké Portal News by selecting Poké Portal from the X menu, then Mystery Gift, then Check Poké Portal News.

The Lunar New Year takes place on January 29, 2025, ushering in the Year of the Snake. But Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet Trainers can get an early start celebrating with a mass outbreak event featuring snakelike Pokémon from Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. PST to Sunday, January 12, 2025, at 3:59 p.m. PST. Shiny Pokémon are more likely to appear in these special mass outbreaks, so don’t miss out on this opportunity to add these Pokémon to your Pokédex before they slither away. Look for the following Pokémon in these locations:
- Paldea – Silicobra
- Kitakami – Ekans
- Blueberry Academy – Seviper
