FanArt Friday: Tynamo And The Power Of Unwavering Emotions!

For this edition of FanArt Friday, Pokémon Blog is ecstatic to showcase the incredible art of the amazing Risamaru, also known by her pseudonym Desayumin. This talented artist participated in the fourth and fifth generations of Pokédex Ilustrada, the project organized by Ilustradoras Unidas.

For Risamaru, art means having the courage to express her emotions through shapes and colors, allowing her to communicate what she feels deep down to others.

“Art helps me listen to and understand myself, as well as allowing others to explore their own emotions through my artwork,” she stated.

Frost Rotom has never been so cool!!❄️ Such an incredible depiction!🩵

Pokémon Crystal was the first Pokémon game she ever played: “I was 13 and down with the flu. I was lonely and stuck in bed every day during that vacation. Playing Pokémon helped me forget that I was sick and allowed me to have fun. Since that experience, I’ve made so many friends because of Pokémon, and it makes me very happy to think that these bonds have been enriched and strengthened by the franchise. For someone as socially awkward as I am, it has helped me greatly in socializing and has also become an inspiration for my art.”

“It feels nice to realize all the love you get from illustrating Pokémon and to grasp the connection you form through time and space,” she shared with the Pokémon Blog Team. “My cat and her personality remind me a lot of Mew—I find it so cute. I think that’s the true definition of bringing together two things I love: My cat and Mew. I hope in the future I can illustrate even more I love it when other artists expand the art of the cards beyond the margins, and I want to do it in my own style too.”

Risamaru has two favorite Pokémon: Lapras and Mew.

“When I was a child, I watched the episode where Lapras was introduced, and it moved me. It was very emotional. I found the interaction between Ash and Lapras very touching. Her voice is also very cute. And I chose Mew because the movies in which this Pokémon appeared were very emotional for me, and Mew looks like my beloved cat, Puntito,” she concluded.
