For this edition of FanArt Friday, Pokémon Blog is delighted to showcase the beautiful artwork of the extraordinary Noe, also known by her pseudonym Lobatachim. This talented artist has participated in every single generation of Pokédex Ilustrada and the project celebrating the “First Anniversary of FanArt Friday” titled “Pokémon Fan: Dibuja Tu Equipo Soñado,” both organized by our dear friends at Ilustradoras Unidas.
Art is a meaningful part of Noe’s life: “Everything I can’t verbalize, I express through my drawings and colors, which is great for me because I don’t really consider myself a very eloquent person. Although I’m very talkative, when it’s time to get serious, I usually go blank, and it’s hard for me to find the right words. In those cases, I prefer to let my drawings speak for me.”
Pokémon is one of the first shows Noe ever saw in her life.
“I was obsessed with it when it first aired on Cartoon Network! I used to collect figurines, albums, and plushies. I also had a CD with the songs. My parents still remember the PokéRap ending,” she shared with the Pokémon Blog Team.
“Creating Pokémon-related art is a great experience because it allows me to reconnect with art more sincerely,” Noe shared. “When art becomes work, we often start to resent it and drift away from it — that’s something that, unfortunately, happens to me quite often. However, these instances have served as inspiration and have helped me stay in shape, so I don’t get rusty. I have also had the chance to meet other fantastic artists through Pokédex Ilustrada and discover beautiful Pokémon that I had no idea even existed.”
Our gifted artist has two very special favorites when it comes to Pokémon: “I’ve always been fascinated by the feral yet sophisticated look Mightyena has — which is kind of funny because my second favorite is Lechonk. I guess that’s the duality of being human.”
