For this edition of FanArt Friday, Pokémon Blog is delighted to showcase the talent of the amazing artist known as Moge (Moge.Market). He participated in the sixth generation of Pokédex Ilustrada, the marvelous project led by our dear friends at Ilustradoras Unidas.
Art has been very important to him since childhood. It has always been a way to connect with his mom, who also draws, and whenever he could, he would gift her some of his own drawings.
“As I got older, art became a way to explore the things I liked. I would draw my favorite anime characters, even though, at that time, it was kind of weird to like those things. Now I enjoy sharing my art, which is a complete mix of everything I like — and have liked at some point — but now without so much prejudice,” he shared with the Pokémon Blog Team.
Our talented artist has always enjoyed Pokémon’s designs; this is where his interest in the franchise comes from, since he hasn’t been able to play many games beyond the ones for the DS and GBA. However, when it was first released, he was completely addicted to Pokémon.
He owns some Pokémon plushies, but what he enjoys collecting the most with his partner are the very rare Pokémon finger figures.
Moge believes it’s really cool to combine his love for Pokémon with his passion for art.
“I remember challenging myself to pick a random number and draw the Pokémon that came up, to choose one and sketch it from memory, or even to humanize them. These challenges often motivated me to keep drawing,” he shared.
“I think it’s a very cute and sweet Pokémon, despite its simple design, and its evolutionary line is also very beautiful. I’ve tried to collect its Pokémon cards because the illustrations are so charming,” he concluded.
