Pokémon GO is ringing in the new year with its New Year’s 2026 event running from Dec. 31 through Jan. 4. The celebration brings festive in-game fireworks alongside a lineup of costumed Pokémon including Bulbasaur, Jigglypuff, Hoothoot and Pikachu appearing in the wild. Players can also expect event bonuses to make catching and playing more rewarding during the short window. Costumed Pokémon will show up in raids as well, giving collectors another reason to jump in. It’s a low-key but fun way to close out the year and kick off January with something extra to do.
