Video: Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves will officially launch in Brazilian Portuguese

Game Freak has officially unveiled Generation 10 with Pokemon Winds and Pokemon Waves, both launching simultaneously in 2027 for the Nintendo Switch 2. The dual release keeps the franchise’s traditional two version format intact while ushering the series onto new hardware. Although details about the region, starters and gameplay features are still under wraps, the move to Nintendo’s next system suggests a technical leap alongside the new generation. With Gen 10 confirmed, anticipation is already building for what comes next.

Game Freak has also revealed the three starter Pokémon for Pokemon Winds and Pokemon Waves. Players will choose between Browt, a Grass type, Pombon, a Fire type, and Gecqua, a Water type, continuing the series’ classic elemental trio tradition. While details on their evolutions and abilities have yet to be shared, the designs already hint at distinct personalities and battle styles. As the first partners for Gen 10 Trainers, these starters will likely play a major role in shaping early team building strategies.

Pokemon Winds and Pokemon Waves will officially launch with Brazilian Portuguese language support, marking a significant step for accessibility in the region. The addition ensures that players in Brazil can experience the Gen 10 adventure fully localized at release, rather than waiting for post launch updates. Expanding language options continues the franchise’s push toward a more inclusive global rollout, making the new region, story and Pokémon more approachable for a wider audience from day one.
