Pokémon HeartGold Version and Pokémon SoulSilver Version originally launched on this day in 2010 in North America for the Nintendo DS. The remakes of the classic Johto adventures quickly became fan favorites thanks to updated graphics, expanded features and the ability for a Pokémon partner to follow the player in the overworld. The games also introduced the Pokéwalker accessory, which let players transfer a Pokémon and earn rewards by walking in real life. Years later, HeartGold and SoulSilver are still widely praised as some of the most beloved entries in the Pokémon series.
