The Pokémon Company International and Aardman have unveiled the first teaser trailer for Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu, a new stop-motion series set in the Galar region and coming exclusively to Disney+ worldwide in 2027. The trailer debuted Aug. 28 during a PokémonXP panel held alongside the 2026 Pokémon World Championships in San Francisco, where Aardman director Tom Parkinson, creative director Nat McKay and model-making creative lead James Young joined Pokémon’s Phil Rynda to discuss the production and showcase behind-the-scenes footage, puppets and sets. The series follows the noble but bumbling Sirfetch’d and curious Pichu as they travel across Galar on adventures involving Pokémon in need, with new footage also revealing Obstagoon and the Crown Tundra area from Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield. The project marks a new collaboration between The Pokémon Company International and Aardman, bringing the studio’s signature stop-motion style to the Pokémon universe, while Disney+ will serve as the series’ exclusive worldwide streaming home.
