Pokémon has announced a slate of major updates during PokémonXP and the 2026 Pokémon World Championships in San Francisco, including the 2027 Pokémon World Championships in Singapore, the new feature-length animated film Pokémon: Wild Card and the debut of Z Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Champions on Sept. 9, 2026. Pokémon also revealed that Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu will premiere exclusively on Disney+ in 2027, five new LEGO Pokémon builds are coming in 2027 and Pokémon TCG Pocket will add dual-type Pokémon in October 2026. Meanwhile, Pokémon GO will introduce Mega-Evolved Pokémon to all levels of the GO Battle League and add a third Charged Attack for eligible Mega Evolutions, while the Pokémon TCG will debut Mega Lucario Z ex and the new ex★ series, and Pokémon UNITE will add Morpeko, Toxtricity, Jolteon and Flareon. The weekend also crowned new world champions across the Pokémon VGC, TCG, GO and UNITE competitions, with Kazuki Kage, Vikram Thiagarajan, Takuma Yamazaki, Yuta Araki, Jake Ng, Andrew Hedrick, Hiroki “GGs489hiromaru” Yamauchi and Zeta Division taking first place in their respective divisions.
