The 2026 Pokémon World Championships closing ceremony in San Francisco delivered major announcements across the Pokémon franchise, including the reveal of Pokémon: Wild Card, new Pokémon TCG content, Z Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Champions and four new playable Pokémon for Pokémon UNITE. PokémonXP also revealed that Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu will stream exclusively on Disney+ worldwide and that Pokémon TCG Pocket will add dual-type Pokémon beginning in October 2026. In Pokémon GO, Mega-Evolved Pokémon will enter all GO Battle League formats with access to a special additional Charged Attack during GO Fest 2026: Mega Finale, while Armored Mewtwo is set to return. The Pokémon TCG will introduce Mega Lucario Z ex and tease new Mega attack rare cards featuring Mega Darkrai ex, Mega Zygarde ex, Mega Greninja ex and Mega Rayquaza ex alongside the new ex★ series. Pokémon Champions will add Mega Lucario Z, Mega Garchomp Z and Mega Absol Z on Sept. 9, with Mega Heatran also revealed. The weekend concluded with the announcement that the 2027 Pokémon World Championships will take place at Singapore EXPO in Singapore from Aug. 13-15, 2027.
