The Pokémon Company International and the European Space Agency are teaming up for World Space Week 2026, beginning Oct. 4, with a collaboration designed to spotlight ESA space exploration missions and inspire future generations of explorers. French astronaut Sophie Adenot helped launch the partnership after taking a special Pikachu plush to the International Space Station before returning to Earth for a ceremony at ESA Headquarters in Paris, with photos and videos from the journey available through ESA. Exhibitions will also be held at ESA facilities and museums across Europe during World Space Week and beyond, while Pokémon Center will offer collaboration merchandise including Pikachu plush wearing ESA-inspired astronaut outfits, a bomber jacket and Pokémon TCG accessories. The ESA online shop will also feature Pikachu-themed apparel and accessories, and Pokémon GO will celebrate World Space Week with special in-game content, with additional details to be announced.
