It looks like widespread positive public reception for Pokemon GO has renewed significant interest in the core Pokemon games on Nintendo 3DS. July sales of Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire were over 80 percent higher than July 2015, according to the NPD Group. Similarly, July sales of Pokemon X and Y were nearly 200 percent higher than a year ago. In addition, the 3DS family of systems sold nearly 80 percent more units this July compared to the same time period one year ago. It has also finished as the overall best-selling video game system in July.
