Pokemon Sun and Moon sold nearly two million copies in under a week in Japan

Pokemon Sun and Moon debuted on November 18, which means they’ve officially been out for less than a week. Regardless, sales have already topped 1.9 million units in Japan alone, according to Famitsu. This puts the new games slightly behind Pokemon X and Y, which sold just short of 2.1 million copies in Japan in their first week. They are well ahead of Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, though, which managed first-week sales of 1.53 million. All of the aforementioned Pokemon games are available now for Nintendo 3DS.
