Some changes have been made to Pokemon GO‘s Nearby function. Originally tested in San Francisco, California, the feature now shows up only when a PokéStop is close to your location. In addition, Niantic has made changes to the way Sightings work. The developer is also planning to expand the ability for users to test this updated version of the features and provide them with feedback. Starting today, players in the following areas can now use the new Nearby and Sightings functionality:
- United States of America: All states west of the Mississippi River (except Hawaii and Alaska)
- Canada: British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and the western half of Ontario.
- Australia: All states and territories
