Nintendo spent over $1 million on Pokemon Sun and Moon TV ads in December

Nintendo spent an estimated $4.5 million on 10 spots that aired 1,486 times and generated 296 million TV impressions in December. Most of this budget was used to promote two ads for Super Mario Maker, the “Play Everywhere. Create Anywhere” spot (estimated at $1.4 million) and “Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon: Holiday Me-Time” (est. $1.1 million). As expected, Nintendo focused on child-friendly networks, such as Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network and Teen Nick, and TV shows like SpongeBob SquarePants, Teen Titans Go! and The Amazing World of Gumball. It was recently revealed that Pokemon Sun and Moon – A World Beyond was Nintendo’s top ad for November.
