Rating Battle Season 2 is under way, giving Trainers new chances to test their battling skills in Pokémon Sun and Moon. To compete in Rating Battle Season matches, head to Festival Plaza and select Battle. Then select Visit the Battle Spot to connect to the Internet and start your matches. Keep battling in your climb to the top of the competition ladder in your chosen format. In Rating Battle Season 2, you’ll be able to compete in Single Battle and Double Battle formats using Pokémon from virtually the entire National Pokédex. Only Mythical and some Legendary Pokémon are restricted from use. It’ll be amazing to see what strategies come out of such a large number of Pokémon to choose from.
This season’s Special format looks to be especially interesting. Trainers will be allowed to create a team using the entire National Pokédex, and they’ll even be able to include one of the Legendary and Mythical Pokémon that would ordinarily be restricted from battle. The battles will be Single Battles, and players will register between three and six Pokémon to their Battle Teams and choose three of those Pokémon per battle. All Pokémon will automatically be set to Lv. 50 for the duration of each battle. Restricted Legendary and Mythical Pokémon include Mewtwo, Mew, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Celebi, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Jirachi, Deoxys, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Phione, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin, Arceus, Victini, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Keldeo, Meloetta, Genesect, Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde, Diancie, Hoopa, Volcanion, Cosmog, Cosmoem, Solgaleo, Lunala, Necrozma and Magearna.
