Pokémon GO made more money than all VR games combined in 2016

Pokémon GO may have launched during the second half of 2016, but that was enough time for it make more money than all virtual reality (VR) during the year. Not to be confused with VR, Pokémon GO is an augmented reality (AR) game. According to a new report, if true mobile AR goes mass market next year – underperform 2019, outperform 2017 – AR games could drive nearly $7 billion revenue in five years’ time, which is more than VR games.
