Pokémon GO developer Niantic has confirmed that it is currently working on some new in-game features that are scheduled to be launched soon in an “abbreviated form.” In a recent interview, company CEO John Hanke explained how his team wants to hold official events for the game on a global scale. “I’d never seen spontaneous, user-created events on that scale before,” Hanke said while referring to the numerous gatherings of Pokémon GO users across the world.
