Pokémon GO generates even more revenue following last week’s new Johto update

The latest wave of new content for Pokémon GO has helped the immensely-popular mobile title to generate even more revenue. The game is once again the most grossing iPhone game in the U.S. On Google Play, it is at number three behind Game of War and Mobile Strike. “Pokémon Go hadn’t been No. 1 in the U.S. since January 4 at the end of the New Year’s event,” Sensor Tower head of mobile insights Randy Nelson told GamesBeat. “It only got as high as No. 8 during the Valentine’s event.” Outside of the U.S., Pokémon GO is also performing well in multiple other countries. It is currently number one in Great Britain, Denmark, Ecuador, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Singapore and Slovakia. In Japan, however, it is ranked number eight in terms of revenues.
